Issue: | .Net Client Server Applications Fails |
Product: | Pearl Echo |
Applies to: | All Builds |
Background:
After installing Pearl Echo Workstation software on a machine, a database client-side application fails. The database application uses Microsoft's .Net framework.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be an issue with .Net Version 4.51 and Winsock 2 Layered Service Providers ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2915689 ). Microsoft is working with Pearl Software to resolve the conflict.
Solution:
Option 1
Remove the .Net Version 4.5.1 update in order to revert to a prior release of the .Net Framework.
Option 2
Contact Pearl Software Technical Support to obtain application developed to manually exclude database client applications from Layered Service Providers in order to resolve the conflict.
UPDATE:
Microsoft was responsive and resolved this issue in .Net Version 4.5.2 and later. You may update here: http://blogs.msdn.com/b/dotnet/archive/2014/05/05/announcing-the-net-framework-4-5-2-release.aspx
